I got initiated into the Carnival committee last night, unfortunately I'm not aloud to share the goings on of the initiation due to the secrets shared in the process.
What I can say is that part of my role will be the procession, it would be lovely to see how creative you all are and that we make this the best procession and carnival since the 100th anniversary :)
I found out that a float does not have to be a motorised vehicle you can push something or jazz up a mobility scooter or wheel barrow.
There was some touching letters from people and clubs who have received money from the Carnival and the difference it makes so the more we can raise the better it is for the town.
The time and effort spent by a small committee for the enjoyment of thousands goes relatively unnoticed but without them Burnham would lose one of its greatest assets.
So start preparing now and get ready for the best procession in years but to achieve that and get maximum enjoyment out of the day you'll have to get involved.
Many years ago roads and streets got involved together and put together a float in the comments below or in Facebook put what street your from and if anyone wants to team up.
There is no theme for the carnival as such but that doesn't mean different roads and streets can't have a common theme each.
If you go onto YouTube you'll find alot of inspiring creators more than happy to share how they made there costumes with how to's for anything and everything.
Do you play in a band or know any local bands that want free exposure and a chance to play for a new crowd?
